Clinical trials
Advancing medical knowledge
Randomized, controlled clinical trials are the gold standard through which medical knowledge is advanced.
To advance our vision of improving outcomes for patients with cardiac arrest throughout the world by discovering, delivering and disseminating the best possible care, we lead and participate in many clinical trials that aim to discover the best treatments for cardiac arrest and post-arrest care.
Ongoing clinical trials include The effect of SPecialty cAre on Recovery from Cardiac arrest (SPARC) trial, which seeks to identify whether immediate transfer to a specialty center improves recovery after cardiac arrest compared to treatment at the nearest capable hospital.
Many completed trials have studied optimal care both during and after cardiac arrest.
